IT IS THE PATIENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO FOLLOW-UP THEIR TEST RESULTS.
YOU MUST RING/RETURN TO PROVIDE A FAIL SAFE WAY TO ENSURE YOUR RESULTS ARE RECEIVED, SEEN AND ACTED UPON BY A DOCTOR
If you don’t have an appointment with the doctor for review and to discuss your test results you must call the practice regarding follow-up instructions.
You must call within 1-2 weeks of having the test (or as advised) to find out if an appointment is needed to discuss your results. The receptionists will pass on the doctor’s message when you call. The receptionists cannot give out results (just the doctor’s messages for you). Simple instructions may be given via the receptionists but more complicated explanations and instructions need to be given at a consultation.
A call, a SMS or a letter may be sent if you fail to follow-up your results. Please make sure your contact details are correct.
